		<description>If you want fancy urls, you&#039;ll need to add a line to your apache config:
&lt;code&gt;AllowOverride All&lt;/code&gt;
In some apache setups it&#039;s not default you see.

Then create a htaccess in the root of your install of status.net 
&lt;code&gt;cp htaccess.sample .htaccess&lt;/code&gt;

Finally in your config enable fancy urls.
&lt;code&gt;$config[&#039;site&#039;][&#039;fancy&#039;] = true;&lt;/code&gt;
